For your first physio visit, bring any imaging or medical reports, a list of your medications, your insurance details and anything that helps describe your problem. Wear comfortable clothing that lets us see and move the area. A physiotherapist will take care of the rest.

Helpful things to bring

  • Your health card and insurance or benefits information
  • Imaging results such as X-rays, MRI or ultrasound reports, if you have them
  • A list of medications and any relevant medical conditions
  • Notes from your doctor or surgeon, especially after surgery or a fracture
  • Your usual running shoes or gym shoes if your problem is with activity

Details worth thinking about

When did it start? What makes it worse or better? What do you want to get back to doing? A few notes on your phone can help you answer quickly.

What to wear

Loose clothing that allows access to the area, such as shorts for a knee or a tank top for a shoulder. Our page on what to wear to physiotherapy has more detail.

Do you need a referral?

No. In Ontario you can book physio without a referral. If you have one anyway, bring it. Questions before you come? Call us or book your appointment online.
