How often you go to physio depends on your condition, how recent it is, your goals and how you respond. Some people start with more frequent visits and spread them out as they improve. Your physiotherapist sets this with you and adjusts as you progress.

There is no magic number of visits per week. The right rhythm gives your body time to respond to treatment and exercise while keeping you moving toward your goals.

Factors that shape frequency

  • How acute or long standing the problem is
  • What the tissue needs to heal
  • How well you manage exercises at home
  • Your goals and timeline
  • Practical things like work, travel and budget

A common pattern

Early on, visits may be closer together while we settle pain and teach your program. As you get stronger and more independent, gaps usually stretch out.

Home work matters

What you do between visits often matters as much as the visit itself. Regular short sessions of exercise usually beat doing a lot right before an appointment.
