We direct bill Blue Cross for RCMP members, Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members and Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) clients. For every other insurance plan, you pay at your visit and we give you a detailed receipt to submit to your insurer.
If you are RCMP, CAF or VAC
We bill Blue Cross for your covered visits, so you do not pay up front or submit a claim afterward. Bring your ID number and the body part you are pensioned for to your first appointment. If your coverage needs an authorization or referral for the service you are booking, please arrange that before your visit.
If you have a workplace or private plan
- Pay at the end of your appointment.
- We give you a receipt with the details insurers ask for.
- Submit it through your insurer’s app or website. Most plans reimburse within a few days.
Most extended health plans cover physiotherapy, chiropractic, registered massage therapy and dietetics. What changes from plan to plan is the yearly maximum, the percentage paid, and whether a doctor’s note is needed.
Before your first visit
- Check the yearly maximum for the service you are booking
- Check whether your plan wants a doctor’s referral for reimbursement
- Check when your plan year resets
We cannot see your plan details, so your insurer is the right place to confirm coverage. More detail is in Does my insurance cover physiotherapy, chiropractic and massage?
