How do I submit a physiotherapy receipt to my insurance?
To submit a physiotherapy receipt, keep the receipt from the clinic, log in to your insurer’s portal or app or fill out their claim form, and attach the receipt. Each plan has its own rules, so check with your insurer for details. Our team can answer questions about what appears on our receipts.
Claims are usually quicker when the receipt is clear and complete, and when you submit it soon after the visit. Many plans have a deadline for claims, so do not leave them for months.
General steps
- Keep your itemized receipt after each visit
- Log in to your insurer’s website or app, or request a paper form
- Fill in the claim details and attach the receipt
- Submit and keep a copy for your records
Things to check first
Does your plan cover physiotherapy? Is there a yearly limit? Do you need a doctor’s note? Are there time limits for submitting claims? Your benefits booklet or insurer can tell you.
Direct billing
Some clinics can bill the insurer directly. Ask us whether this is possible for your plan, and see our direct billing page.
Questions about physiotherapy receipts
If your insurer needs something specific, such as practitioner details, let us know and we will help.
